Описание к видео Is Koichi Nakano (Japan) the Champion of all Champions in Track Cycling Sprint?

This is the story of Koichi Nakano, Japan's most prolific track sprinter and Keirin racer and the only cyclist ever to have won ten consecutive World Championships in a row.

The video highlights some of his biggest rivals including Daniel Morelan from France (twice Olympic Gold Medallist and 8 x World Champion) and Gordon Singleton from Canada who had already won the Keirin at the 1982 World Championships and provided Nakano with his biggest challenge yet in what would be the most dramatic sprint final ever seen.

While I was celebrating the biggest cycling success of my career, within minutes of my race finishing, six of the best Keirin riders including Gary Neiwand were lining up for one of the best ever Keirin final line ups at an Olympic Games.

Little did much of the crowd watching on know that there was also another cycling champion gearing up for that final and he would be the motor pacer for that great race. In fact he was not just a champion but possibly the greatest sprint cyclist that has ever lived.
