as our featured guest.

Her Webtoons comics series CRASH CART is an educational medical drama
comics series about life working in the ER. In the emergency department, every second counts. Crash Cart follows an emergency nurse, as she leaps into action during a Code STEMI — a full cardiac arrest after a massive heart attack. The panels pulse with urgency: chest compressions, defibrillator shocks, adrenaline injections. But not every story ends with survival. In the aftermath, the emergency nurse must steady her hands, push down the grief, and move on — because the next emergency won't wait.

With comics work focused on science communication and health education, in addition to writing stories that incorporate her Southern and Gullah Geechee cultural upbringing, Toussaint's work represents both modern and historical aspects of science, medicine, and the African American experience in context of the comics medium. She is also the co-host of the Ororo Comics Podcast with friend and fellow RN Karla Medrano BSN, RN, where they discuss health, culture, and comics!
