The Essential Guide to Any Motorcycle Traveler - Online Course: https://rtw-adventures.com/online-cou...
1. Tank bag
Many riders don’t have it, but for me, this is the most useful bag you can have on a trip. Inside I keep only the important things. Usually the staff which I use all the time like my GPS, camera, maps and some cables. Some of my friends said that they don’t need it, because they have top case. That’s ok, but on the long trip, especially if you have some rough terrains or off road, the top case could cause you many problems. From unexpected shakings and vibrations to bended or even broken subframe.
2. Heated grips
About it I am sure that that everybody will agree with me. Once you have it will be difficult to travel without it in the future. Yes, if you live in a hot area is different story, but if you have plans to ride the world, you will definitely need it.
3. 12 V mini USB socket
This small items usually cost nothing, compare to the rest of the accessories, but they are very important to keep your electronic devices working. There are thousands of models on the market, the brand or the shape it doesn’t really matter, whatever you like. I will recommend to have at least two in your luggage. They weight nothing, but it’s easy to forget or lose it.
4. Bluetooth
Well, to have this device it’s such a pleasure. I never really connect my phone or lessen radio, but it’s priceless for communication with your riding friend or pylon. When you have your Bluetooth it’s like a whole new world. The only problem with these devices is that you get addicted it will be very hard to travel without after that.
5. Volt meter
I highly recommend having one of these. It will give you the chance constantly to monitoring the condition of your alternator and battery. In the case of possible fails you will know it earlier and you could prevent it.
6. Thermometer
When you travel with motorcycle, the weather is something very important. When you have it on your bike, you will know what clothes you need in the curtain temperature. For example under 18 degrees you need to have your warm linings. Above 25, you need to take off the long sleeves and many like that. Two degrees up or down make a huge difference in your riding comfort.
7. Pin lock
This basically its anti-fog lens, attached inside of your visor. If your helmet have it great, if not you can by universal and mounted. Riding with a fogged up helmet visor can be really annoying and dangerous. You will understand it first time when you have to ride on cold days or in the rain. Get one of these and you will never regret.
8. Camel back
When you ride motorcycle, your body consume double more water. It’s very important to drink enough, especially if it’s hot. Some of you will disagree and will say that simple bottle will be the same, but it’s not really like that. With camel bag you will have water all the time and this will give you possibility to drink water even while you ride. With bottle it’s different story. Sometimes, you have ride many hours without stopping, traffic, bad weather, not proper place to stop or many similar circumstances. It’s very easy to dehydrate yourself without even notice it.
9. Air compressor or pump.
As you know sometimes the shit just happens. Air compressor or just simple pump could safe your ass in many situations. Always keep one with you. You don’t need to learn it the hard way.
10. Visor cleaner
When you are a long ride, especially I the summer you smash a lot of flies and mosquitoes with your helmet. Theoretically you can clean your visor with anything, even with water. That’s right, but sometimes I skip it because I don’t have water at the moment. The visor cleaner has alcohol in and clean much better. It’s usually comes in small bottles and you can keep it even in your pocket.
