Wind Basics Self Teaching Trial And Error @ 50 Yards

Описание к видео Wind Basics Self Teaching Trial And Error @ 50 Yards

Disclaimer: This is not an instructional video. This is me shooting, trialing things I have read about and discussed with other shooters on methods and technique for reading and adjusting Point Of Aim for the wind.
I am just learning.
50 Yard distance.
Anschutz 1913 BR. RWS Rifle Match and RWS R50.
Winds were mostly cross directional (3 o'clock and 9 o'clock) with moments of angled presentation and occasionally head and tail (12 o'clock and 6 o'clock) mixing it up a little.
There were some gusts in the 5-10 MPH range, though non-sustained.
I started today using only one wind aid at 8-10 yards from mid-bench. Wind at this distance will affect bullet Point Of Impact by approximately 35-39%. So shots were based on what I see with this indicator alone. Ultimately I plan to use two additional positioned wind flags (probably at 25 yards and 40-45 yards ), with those having 29% and 7% affect on bullet Point Of Impact respectively. (Note: I read different % values with different sources, so the ones I list are approximates).
Seasoned shooters seem to like 4-6 wind flag stations. I'll start with three until I get to a reasonable comfort level of understanding and proficiency. (Hopefully!). If that goes according to plan, I'll most likely stay at 3 flag stations just for the sake of simplicity.
