Measuring your opening for a Martin Garage Door You will need a few dimensions that will be helpful in determining the size of your new door. This is a simple measuring guide and should not invalidate a pre-site inspection visit by a trained professional.

Opening width:
Take two measurements of the finished opening. One at the top and the other at the bottom

Opening height:
Take three measurements of the finished opening. One at the left, center and right side of the opening

Measure from the floor to the lowest point of the ceiling or any obstruction like beams, vents, light fixtures, etc. 14 inches are required for a standard installation. If you have less than 14 inches you may need a low clearance track system

Measure both the right and left side from the opening to the wall or obstruction. 4 ½ inches are required from the side of the opening to the side wall.

The 4 1/2 inches from the side of the door is required the entire distance to at least one foot further back from the door opening than the height of the door. These measurements will be helpful when you contact your Martin Door Service provider for pricing or to order your new Martin Garage Door
