The State Government has taken a new decision to help SC (Scheduled Caste) families become financially strong through self-employment. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced that interest-free loans will be given to SC beneficiaries so they can start small businesses and earn a steady income. Based on the SC population in each district, the government has selected beneficiaries. From the first week to the last week of this month, loans will be distributed. For this purpose, the government has released nearly ₹64 crore. Under the Self-Employment Subsidy Loan Scheme, about 4,400 beneficiaries will be selected across the state. This scheme is implemented with support from the central government’s PM AJAY scheme. The government has suggested 56 types of business units such as passenger autos, footwear shops, bakeries, mobile shops, tiffin centers, food stalls, organic product sales, biscuit making, and cashew business. Each unit should cost ₹1 lakh or more. The government will give ₹50,000 as subsidy. The remaining amount will be provided as a bank loan, which beneficiaries can repay in monthly installments. To avoid interest burden, the Unnati scheme under SERP is linked, making the loan completely interest-free. This scheme especially helps SC women in DWCRA groups, giving them a chance to become self-reliant and live with dignity.
