Al (Porky) Witherow — Yodeling Hobo

Описание к видео Al (Porky) Witherow — Yodeling Hobo

Al (Porky) Witherow and a tune from his 'Are You Satisfied' album on the Cherrylane label called "Yodeling Hobo." Over 15-20 years ago a fan sent me some screen shots of that album and as luck would have it, I found it in a used record shop here in town (Salty's Record Attic). Eventually, learning more about Porky led to this album. A 1972 interview in a Buffalo newspaper indicated he was a native of York, PA. He held a degree in psychology from Ursinus College in Philadelphia. Then got a master's degree in machine shop theory and practice from Penn State. He got his nickname when he was in high school. He was a regular on the WWVA Jamboree in 1968. He said in that 1972 interview "Three Stars and one little old fat guitar picker, that's us." Note: Porky wrote this tune per the credits on the album label. It is not the tune by the same title that Gene Autry did.
