Translation:
Ulf Elfving: This weeks highest new entry at No. 3, "Mot okänt land" with Hep Stars. In the studio Hep Stars' composer and one of the guys in Hep Stars: Benny Andersson. Hello and welcome! Congratulations! Your previous song "I natt jag drömde" went directly to No.1, are you displeased now?
Benny Andersson: No, you can hardly be that.
UE: "I natt jag drömde" stayed 17 weeks in the chart, do you think this one will stay as long?
BA: Difficult to say but hopefully it will.
UE: Where does this song come from?
BA: Despite everything that's been written in the papers, I believe it's a free song so I can't say who wrote it but it's an American folk song called "Four Strong Winds" that was translated to Norwegian and was recorded in Norway by a Norwegian group. That's where we got it from and used the Norwegian lyrics with some changes that Åke Gerhard did.
UE: It's you who generally write Hep Stars' songs. How many songs have you written?
BA: I don't know exactly how many but it's about 10-15. I have no idea, actually.
UE: And they have all become hits?
BA: No, they haven't since many of them are on LPs and so on.
UE: Which one would you say is your biggest hit?
BA: "Sunny Girl", I think.
UE: That exist both in your own recording and in Swedish. Which is the most difficult to write, the music or the lyrics?
BA: In my case I think it's easier to write the lyrics as I write in English as it doesn't take so much poetry as if you were to write in Swedish. It's easier, it's enough for me with words that rhyme to expand what would be missing if you didn't have any lyrics.
UE: You've never written Swedish lyrics?
BA: No.
UE: You're not going to try that?
BA: Yes, I'm thinking of that. It's just a matter of time.
UE: You will continue to make records in Swedish with Hep Stars?
BA: Yes, we will.
UE: You will transfer more and more to a Swedish repertoire?
BA: No, I think it will be as it's been until now, some recordings in Swedish and some in English. It's more difficult to find Swedish material as it's more demanding lyrics wise.
UE: Are you aiming for an as wide audience as possible?
BA: Yes, we exist for the audience.
UE: What are you most recent plans?
BA: It's to make an album for Christmas. It will probably be an LP with Christmas songs.
UE: Swedish lyrics?
BA: Yes.
UE: Only?
BA: No.
UE: No traveling, tours?
BA: Not in the near future. We will naturally have a Christmas and New Year's Tour but I don't think we will travel anything before that. Perhaps a few concerts only.
UE: You've had a long nice holiday now?
BA: Yes, for a month. I was on Majorca for 10 days, Paris and Zurich.
UE: You still have some tan left. And now we will travel on "Mot okänt land". Thank you, Benny!
BA: Thank you!
