Plant Connections: The Medicine of Tabaco/Mapacho [Nicotiana Rustica]

Tabaco is one of my main plant allies that I have been working closely with for the past year and a half. This is a Master Plant and a very powerful spirit that came to me during a time of initiation and awakened me to our soul connection in which memories of past lives where we have been working together re-surfaced within me.

Tabaco is a plant medicine of deep purification, he will bring everything to the surface which we need to face to learn, grow stronger and heal. When we work respectfully with this plant and have an allyship with its spirit we may receive the gifts of energetic protection, mental clarity, seeing truth, enhanced psychic intuition and healing abilities.

After Tabaco entered my field in 2021 through songs and dreams I felt called to go to the amazon and further my studies with the plants of the jungle. I had the opportunity to do a dieta with Tabaco there which initially was going to be 2 weeks but ended up being more than 60 days long. I spent 3 months in the bolivian amazon and 80% of the time in solitude. During my stay there I had 4 tabaco ceremonies, 9 ayahuasca and 2 san pedro.

This was the initiation of a very dark experience for me as my lessons during these 3 months came to be mainly about darkness in all different energetic forms from fears, thought forms, traumas, ancestral, entities, black magic, external, internal, my own, other’s and that which is recorded or trapped in the land. Learning about this meant that I had to be in it and most of the light that I carry within me as protection was experienced as taken from me which left me open to all kinds of trickery. Tabaco was with me during this time and guided me. Our main work together was all about purification and learning about how darkness works.

It was an extremely hard initiation to go through but it has strengthened me immensely and allowed me to deepen my connection to and understand the work that I am here to.

I love Tabaco and see him as one of my greatest teachers.

I work mainly with Tabaco through smoke and liquid medicine (tea that is drunk in purging ceremonies which you only should do with experienced healers, and Ambil which is a concentrated and very strong Tabaco paste)
