Was Wolf Creek based on a true story?
Wolf Creek is a 2005 2005 critically acclaimed Australian Horror Film, written and Directed by Greg McLean, starring Nathan Phillips, Cassandra, Kestie Morassi and John Jarratt. In this critically acclaimed film, three backpackers are travelling around Australia, who's intentions to visit a famous real Australian Landmark (WOLFE CREEK) a meteorite crater in the territory of Western Australia, turns horribly wrong. Their car breaks down and are taken captive by the xenophobic and deadly serial killer MICK TAYLOR (played by John Jarratt).
This film claims to be inspired by true events, one of which we will be exploring today in this video: The Case of Bradley John Murdoch: OUTBACK SERIAL KILLER.
Bradley John Murdoch is an Australian criminal serving life imprisonment for the abduction of JOANNE LEES and the murder of PETER FALCONIO. The attack happened in July 2001, on the remote stretch of highway known as "THE STUART HIGHWAY" Along stretch of road that extends through the centre of Australia.
Peter Falconio disappeared, presumed murdered and Joanne Lees managed to escape.
