Скачать или смотреть A PAWSitive Support Project for Veterans with PTSD and Who Problematically Use Substances - Year 2

Learning how psychiatric service dogs can help veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) recover from problematic alcohol and drug use is the focus of a new Health Canada, Substance Use and Addiction Program, funded project led by the University of Saskatchewan. The project started in September, 2019 and will extend for 3.5 years. The goal of the project is to have service dog organizations working with veterans with PTSD address recovery from problematic substance use, by using evidence-informed practice, with specific attention to substance use and distance peer support in their training programs. The Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Misuse (CRISM), funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, financially supported one of two exploratory studies that are coming to a close. The other study was funded through the USask Centennial Enhancement Chair. The Saskatchewan Centre for Patient Oriented Research supports all three projects.
