From Liveloud’s newest album, Home has been one of my most favourite songs. Reflecting on these words, I find myself revisiting Luke 15:11-32, the parable of the prodigal son. Only when the son understands the weight of his father's presence in his life is when he truly understands how desperately he needs him. This leads the son to reconcile with his father expecting nothing more than to be treated as a servant, however, the father rejoiced in the son’s return more than dwell on his son’s sin and welcomed him home with open arms.

Many times when I fall into sin, I am reminded of how desperately I need my heavenly father and how even through all my aimless wondering, He has been there beside me all along. The imagery this song paints reminds me of my return to God and falling into His embrace as He rejoices in my return.
