Novorossiysk Port: Moscow thwarts overnight Ukrainian attack on Black Sea naval base | Oneindia News

The Russian defence ministry this morning said that Ukraine tried to carry out overnight attacks on the Black Sea naval base in the Crimean Peninsula that were thwarted by their officials. It said that the sea drones were spotted and destroyed by Russian ships guarding the outer harbour of the naval base. The Black Sea port of Novorossiysk also hosts a pipeline terminal that carries most of Kazakhstan's oil exports through Russia. The port temporarily suspended any movement of ships following the attack, according to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium which loads oil on to tankers at the port. It however said that it has continued the process of shipping oil to moored tankers at the terminal Ukraine has carried out at least 10 attacks with sea drones - targeting military ships and Russia's naval base in Sevastopol, as well as Novorossiysk harbour in a previous attack.
