They Don't Give A Damn! Tenn. Repubs RENEGED On Deal, VACATES ENTIRE TSU Board

In a controversial move, trustees of Tennessee’s sole publicly funded historically Black university were ousted on Thursday through legislation signed into law by Republican Governor Bill Lee. Critics, including Black lawmakers and community leaders, argue that the predominantly white state leadership unfairly singled out Tennessee State University. The bill swiftly passed the GOP-controlled House in a 66-25 vote on Thursday, with Lee endorsing it shortly after without addressing the contentious nature of the decision. Instead, he commended TSU as a "remarkable institution" while revealing his selection of 10 new replacements.
