Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Attwood boat anchor chain and shackles kit. Now, this chain can be used in salt water, thanks to its hot-dip galvanized coating. That's going to help protect against corrosion, but it's gonna be especially ideal for freshwater use where the conditions are less harsh and the protective layer is gonna hold up a little bit longer. Now, in salt water environments, galvanized steel will eventually wear down without regular rinsing and maintenance, making this anchor chain a better fit for lakes, rivers, and inland boaters who want dependable performance without the added maintenance. So, if you are a coastal boater or if you prefer long-term mooring, do consider a stainless steel setup instead, rather than this hot-dip galvanized steel one.
And you can find those options here at etrailer.com. With 4' of pre-cut chain, you're gonna be able to get just the right amount of weight to help your anchor set securely and hold setting without overloading your setup. So, this is gonna be ideal, an ideal length for most freshwater boats where a full chain load isn't necessary and the added weight is going to keep the anchor shank lying flat, and it's gonna reduce the strain on your rope, especially in windy conditions or a light current. It's also gonna help protect your anchor line from rubbing against rocks or sharp structures below the surface, all without adding unnecessary bulk to your gear. Plus, this includes, as you probably already saw here, two shackles, so you're not going to have to hunt for extra hardware.
Now, this is going to be easy to connect to your anchor and rope right out of the box. Again, as I mentioned, the chain is 4' long. In case you we inchesre wondering, the chain thickness is 1/4". If you do pick this up, we'd love to hear back from you regarding your experience with using this, and you can share your experience with us by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. If you have any other additional questions, don't hesitate to reach back out to us.
We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
