The Federal Government is taking bold steps to remove all barriers to seamless digital payments and e-commerce operations nationwide.

At a key stakeholders’ roundtable, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, reiterated the Tinubu administration’s commitment to financial inclusion and digital economy growth, emphasizing the need for infrastructure upgrades, regulatory frameworks, and legal reforms to reach the last mile.

Also speaking, Dr. Max Mendez-Parra from the International Economic Development Group highlighted ongoing work with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat to ensure coordinated digital trade protocols across Africa.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the President on ICT Policy, Salisu Dasuki Nakande, revealed that this effort began two years ago — gaining full support from Vice President Kashim Shettima to create a frictionless payment ecosystem across sectors and borders.
