Little is known about this amazing Chinese figurative painter except that she was born in Beijing in 1949, graduated at the Central Art Academy in 1969 and was among the 17 million "privileged urban youth" who were sent to rural areas to learn about farming during the Cultural Revolution.
In 1979, she was transferred to the Tianjin Industrial Art Design College.
