Rauf Ahmed speaks about film actress Rekha. He says, "I don't this it is a tag because I think right from the beginning she had this thing about her because she was very sensual in early days, of course, she was very voluptuous and also she was very uninhibited because of that she gained that reputation because she could do just about anything. In those days physical sexuality and sensuality were more important than anything else so at that stage she was sensual and she was coming in the same line as Sharmila Tagore and Mumtaz so she genuinely was sexy and she was seen as that. I think it was not just a tag.

That happened after she gained in consciously initially she was the very innocent person who could be molded the way the director wanted or the producer wanted but later on, I think the different phase in her career I think after she started teaming up with Amitabh Bachchan was her turning point she realized that she has to be sophisticated and she has to measure up to the personality and the aura which he exuded."
