OFFICER-INVOLVED TRAFFIC COLLISION UNDER INVESTIGATION

MENIFEE, Calif. — A Menifee Police officer was involved in an on-duty traffic collision Wednesday afternoon while responding to a medical aid call.

According to the Menifee Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 2:09 p.m. on February 11, 2026, at the intersection of McCall Road and Menifee Road. The police vehicle was traveling through the intersection when it collided with two civilian vehicles.

CAL FIRE responded immediately and provided medical aid at the scene. Out of an abundance of caution, the Menifee Police officer and the driver of one civilian vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Their conditions have not been released.

As of the latest update, the intersection remains closed while investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The investigation has been turned over to the California Highway Patrol - Temecula. Authorities are asking that any inquiries related to the collision be directed to CHP-Temecula.

This is an active investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
