This is what Bathurst Resources are currently doing as they expand Cypress Mine.

🐌 ⛰️ 🌳 Denniston Plateau is over 40 million years old, rated by DOC’s own scientists as one of the top 50 most ecologically valuable sites on mainland New Zealand. Many rare and threatened species live here, alongside 18 plant communities – from bonsai gardens of pigmy pine, manuka and rata to vast sandstone pavements patterned with stunted grasses.

Denniston Plateau is "Stewardship land" - Public Conservation Land that was allocated to the Department of Conservation in 1987, specifically set aside with the understanding that its high conservation values would be protected from extractive industries like mining.

We are here to protect Denniston Plateau, this precious ecology, for generations to come.
