In this video we take a look at a set of 5 battles in Season 4 of the Pokemon GO Battle League in the Great League.


In today's video we are taking a look at the newest spice Pokemon in the game and that is Pidgeot with the new move Gust, obtainable by evolving a Pidgeotto during Battle Night in celebration of the long-awaited Flying Cup.


Gust is a Confusion clone and as a result does insane base damage while also generating a lot of energy. Being a 4-turn move, it is quite slow however, it does hit very hard. Is this a meta-breaker for GBL? No, Pidgeot is still by no means a top pick, let alone meta-relevant, however, it does give Pidgeot more play as a potential Spice pick, and perhaps some play in future theme cups for GBL, perhaps even Kanto Cup in Season 5?


In a desperate attempt to finish my 100 battles on Battle Night I decided to build a team that can win or lose matches very quickly, so I decided to put Shadow Victreebel in the lead. Bastiodon, although more effective, really prolongs the length of battles, so I decided to use Galarian Stunfisk instead. This team of three is by no means solid, and I did not invest time into researching a good team to build around Pidgeot, so this definitely does not show the potential of what Pidgeot can or cannot be, but considering the circumstances, I was satisfied with the performance of Pidgeot.


In this video we use a team consisting of: Shadow Victreebel [Lead] (Razor Leaf, Acid Spray, Leaf Blade), Galarian Stunfisk (Mud Shot, Rock Slide, Earthquake) & Pidgeot (Gust*, Aerial Ace, Brave Bird).
