These apple cranberry turnovers are one of our favorite pastries of the season. The combination of fruit, crumbled almond paste and puff pastry is simply delicious. Follow the instructions in this recipe video and you know exactly how to make this lovely treat yourself!

Ingredients
2 semi-tart apples (ex. Golden Reinette)
1 orange
¼ cup dried cranberries
6 tbsp granulated sugar
¼ cup almond paste
Frozen puff pastry enough for 12 5x5 inches squares
1 egg

Parchment paper

Prepare turnovers
Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Peel the apples and remove the cores. Cut the apples into ¼ inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl. Scrub the orange well. Grate the orange. Add the zest, crumbled almond paste, cranberries and sugar to the apples. Mix together. Place the thawed puff pastry squares on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Divide the apple mixture among the 12 squares. Put the mixture on half the squares. Leave the edges free. Beat the egg until blended. Brush onto the edges of the squares.

Baking
Fold the pastry diagonally and seal the edges with a fork. Use the remaining egg to brush the tops of the turnovers. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for about 25 min until golden brown and done.
