WERRIBEE DISTRICTS
Formed in 1951 as Werribee Junior Football Club, before adding senior teams in 1995 and rebranding Werribee Amateur & Junior Football Club, the club spent its formative years competing in the Footscray District Football League (now known as the Western Region Football League).

In 1998, the club's senior teams were admitted into the Victorian Amateur Football Association’s (VAFA) F Section. After the admittance into the VAFA, the senior teams achieved promotion on 6 occasions: in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013. The 2012 season saw the senior and reserves teams in the VAFA B Grade with the club’s climb from the lowest division to B Grade recognised as the quickest club of any side in all the divisions of the VAFA.

During the playing days in the VAFA, the senior side won the premiership on two occasions, (2008 Division Two & 2010 Division One) while the Reserves team tasted premiership success three times (2003 Reserves Division Three, 2007 Reserves Division Two, 2008 Reserves Division Two).

In 2014, the club rebranded to its current name: Werribee Districts Football Club. The rebranding saw the senior teams transferred back into the WRFL into the Division One competition. The senior team finished the 2014 season in third place before qualifying for the 2015 WRFL Division One Grand Final. Since being admitted back into the WRFL, our Senior and Reserves sides have qualified for finals at Division One level every year, with both teams competing in the most recent 2023 Grand Finals taking out both premierships.

While the senior sides spent 16 years in the VAFA, the club’s junior sides remained and competed in the Footscray District Football League until the league was renamed to the Western Region Football League (WRFL) in 2000. The junior teams of Werribee Districts, still compete in the WRFL to this day where they have represented the club admirably. In total, across the WRFL/FDNL & VAFA Competitions; the club has won 75 Premierships and have had 52 League Best and Fairest Winners.

HOPPERS CROSSING
The Hoppers Crossing Football Club is an Australian rules football club which has competed in the WRFL since 1988. They are based in the Melbourne suburb of Hoppers Crossing. In 1972, the club fielded a senior team in the Western Suburbs FL. In 1981 and 1987 they made the Grand final only to lose both games. They moved across to the Footscray and District FL in 1988 after their previous league closed down. After winning the 1992 Division 2 premiership the club was promoted to Division One where they have remained since.

The Western Football Netball League (WFNL) is a semi-professional Australian rules football and netball league, based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. The league was formed in 1931 as the Footscray District Football League (FDFL). In 1988, the league absorbed clubs from the West Suburban Football League and in 2000, to reflect the fact that the league had expanded across the western suburbs, it changed its name to the Western Region Football League (WRFL). The league changed its name to the Western Football Netball League in early 2024.
