Osseointegration | Catherine & Roger's Stories - Part 4 | Dorset Orthopaedic

We rejoin Catherine five months post-surgery back in the clinic completing her final week of residential rehabilitation. Life without a socket for Catherine is now much sweeter, she has gained confidence and is almost back to her pre-accident level of activity.

Osseointegration (OI), is a pioneering procedure that involves fitting a titanium implant directly into the bone, allowing for a prosthesis to be connected to it. Dorset Orthopaedic, together with Relimb (based out of the Private Patient Unit at the Royal Free Hospital, London) set up the first civilian OI service for private patients in the UK in 2018 and are the market leaders in providing this innovative surgical procedure and rehabilitation service.
