Amid sour relations with India, Bangladesh has started upgrading its Air Force. For this, Bangladesh is now preparing to join hands with China. Bangladesh Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, in a statement, emphasized on upgrading fighter planes and attack helicopters and hinted at buying fighter jets from China. According to the IDRW report, Bangladesh can buy J-10C multirole fighter jets from China to increase its air power.

The report states that Bangladesh is considering buying 16 J-10C fighter planes in the first phase for its Air Force. If this happens, Bangladesh will be the second neighbor after Pakistan to buy fighter planes from China. Along with fighter jets, Bangladesh is also focusing on buying attack helicopters, which are important for missions like close air support and anti-armor operations. The Chinese-made J-10C is a fourth generation fighter aircraft, which has the ability to complete missions both on land and air while being in the sky.

The Chinese J-10C has the ability to deploy advanced avionics and AESA radar systems as well as modern weapons. This is the reason why China wants to buy a powerful fighter plane. This move of Bangladesh clearly shows that it intends to establish itself as an important air defense power in the region. China has already sold this aircraft to Pakistan, which is currently using it. Recently, Pakistan had approved the purchase of fifth generation fighter aircraft J-35 from China. China claimed that this fighter aircraft is equal to America's F-35 fighter aircraft. It is being told that its delivery will start within the next two years.
