A Rail Vision for Georgia

Описание к видео A Rail Vision for Georgia

Atlanta is the center of a regional rail hub that can provide better passenger-train service to other cities such as Macon, Savannah, Charlotte, Nashville, and Jacksonville. Planning is underway to better serve this region, which includes Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL)—the busiest airport in the world and Georgia’s largest private employer—as well as other major employers such as Robins Air Force Base, which draws commuters from 78 counties.

In this talk, we heard about Georgia’s infrastructure assets, proposed levels of service, and next steps in the political process. Our presenters are two leaders in the I-75 Corridor Coalition, which endorses high-speed rail connections between Atlanta and Savannah, via Macon. Ray Clark is a professional government relations consultant, and attorney Robert Reichert has served as both a state representative and mayor of Macon-Bibb County.
