I honestly love both versions as a whole. I really do. But for me personally, I prefer the remake cuz it does it better than the original. I'm sorry that I have to say it again from my "Breakout" video, but it's true (in my eyes). So, which one looks better, guys? If you look closely at some parts, especially at the first ship part (0:14), there is a lot that has been changed from both levels. I mean look at the coin for both levels. They're not even in the same spot! AlexanderX1ta just moved it down and then made the pathway a bit tighter with a specific angle. Also, in the bossfight parts, AlexanderX1ta changed the Gear's positioning like at the drop (0:41). In the original, he's on the right of the screen whereas in Breakout, the Gear is in the centre of the level in the background.
