Gliding through access challenges: From benchtop testing to the next gen. of aspiration catheters

Описание к видео Gliding through access challenges: From benchtop testing to the next gen. of aspiration catheters

With all the aspiration catheters available, are there still unmet needs for a new catheter?
In this revealing conversation during the recent LINNC Paris 2024, Drs Mahmood Mirza (Ireland) – a physician and engineer with Cerenovus – and Christian Ulfert (Germany) discuss why there are still clear and unmet needs, what they are and how the innovative CEREGLIDE™ 71 catheter responds to them.

What is missing in aspiration catheters up until now?
Our two specialists begin by looking at a systematic 2021 review which explored the challenges that occurred during mechanical thrombectomy procedures with available catheters: were they access problems? Carotid tortuosity or the arch? What prolonged the procedure?

In planning a procedure Dr Ulfert describes what he looks for in an aspiration catheter. He wants one that offers trackability, stability and a versatility that works in a wide range of anatomies and types of interventions.

But how do you go about developing a catheter that responds to all these criteria?

Here we turn to Dr Mirza, who leads us what was involved in the CEREGLIDE™ 71 design: from gathering robust data and comprehensive review process, to discovering which types of carotid vasculatures are challenging, modelling these features to produce the catheter itself and field testing the new device to see how it performs for a wide variety of operators and clinical situations.

And what makes the new CEREGLIDE™ 71 catheter so unique?
How does its size and coating liner make it highly navigable, or how does the angle cut polymers allow for a gradual transition of stiffness?
And, more importantly, how does it perform in real-world clinical experience?
Dr Ulfert answers, speaking about his own use of the CEREGLIDE™ 71, demonstrating the new catheter’s excellent trackability, versatility and reliability in a wide variety of procedures.

With 300 cases showing great results and physician satisfaction, isn’t it your turn to learn more about CEREGLIDE™ 71?
Join us here and discover the catheter designed based on your unmet needs!
