In this video, we explain the transport system in Tokyo's waterfront area. We focus on the current situation and future challenges of bus operation, especially the start of the Tokyo BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system.

Harumi used to be a wharf lined with factories, but it has now been transformed into a residential area, and the "Harumi Flag" was developed on the site of the former Tokyo Olympic Village. There is no subway in this area, so bus transport is important.
Tokyo BRT will start operating in 2020, and currently has four routes in the bay area. It is based on BRT systems in Japan and abroad, and measures to improve punctuality, such as the introduction of fare payment methods and priority signals, are being considered. However, some point out that the original characteristics of BRT are not very visible, and it cannot be called BRT.
