This video was first copied to DVD in 2010 from a poor quality VCR recording made in 1981.

This recording is about the Agnew Clough Ltd closure of its Charcoal Iron and Steel Industry here in Wundowie, leaving only its foundry and vanadium plant open with minimal staff.

Nationwide* covered the closure as well as issues related to the vanadium plant. This snapshot in time may be of interest to our local community for its historic value.

Although this was a tough time for our community, I had to smile looking and listening to my workmates, many who have passed, and a few like me who are on the back nine of life.

Nationwide was an Australian ABC TV current affairs program that ran from 1979 to 1984.
