The SOMA63 is based around the sound of the brown era Fender amps of the early 1960's. This beauty is a full simulation of the amplifier (minus the tremolo circuit), including the preamp, phase inverter, power section, and even the speakers that came in those beautiful brown amps. The SOMA63 even includes a small steel core transformer in the signal path that is placed immediately before the volume control. This means that as you increase the gain, you can saturate the core of the steel core transformer, and you can get those squashed out, almost fuzzy tones that a cranked amp can get when you dig in hard!
