The long overdue story about the violent and passionate abolitionist - John Brown. Adapted from satirical James McBride novel of the same title, the Good Lord Bird manages to entertain and provide historic facts about a white man who lived and died for the emancipation of slaves and the well being of all African Americans in a Pre-civil war United States.



TGLB, brilliantly written by veteran actor Ethan Hawke (Training Day, Brooklyn’s Finest), James McBride, Kristen SaBerre enlist a powerful and gifted cast of veteran and new actors who all shine in their perspective roles.
But it is Ethan who mesmerizes with his portrayal of The 19th century freedom fighter - John Brown.

RETV, along with a group of talented journalists got a rare opportunity to talk to the cast and creator about this important bio pic/miniseries and intense look at a historic revolutionary figure Malcom X once called a “real liberal.”
In this two part feature Ethan Hawke, Joshua Caleb Johnson and author James McBribe help us get a better understand their approach on bringing this story to life.
