New Single: Rwagasabo/Baraka
Mighty Popo Returns!
A Director at the Rwanda School of Creative Arts and Music, formerly the Nyundo School of Art and Music, Mighty Popo, who released several full-length albums while living in Canada, is helping to redevelop the country’s music industry. The school now counts 100 graduates, many of whom are bringing music to Rwandans and the world.
Now it is Mighty Popo’s time to add his own music to the mix.
Rwagasabo /Baraka is a new style reggae tune that sits on a Rwandan time signature.
The song asks people to see the core elements that exist in all of us, in each other, as the foundation upon which to build a strong and caring society. Yes, we are all different, and, yes, we all have different circumstances, but we are in this together and it is better to lend a hand to help each other. And no matter our social standing, together we celebrate our culture which we all hold in common.
