SCAM in UKRAINE: Watch Out for the Restaurant Scam! 🇺🇦

Turn on Subtitles. 🇹🇷🇺🇦🇷🇺🇦🇪 (CC) There are a lot of scams in Ukraine, but the restaurant scam is definitely the most common. It's a tough one as it's so easy to get tricked on, 1 in 2 tourists, travelers and expats I know have fallen for it at least once. It's also hard to avoid as going out to eat at restaurants, especially one dates with Ukrainian girls is one of the highlights of being in the country.

It took me 3 trips to Ukraine to figure this out, and only this past year that I get the inside information about how it actually works and how prevalent it really is. It turns out it's become so sophisticated that girls even have an app that shows which restaurants are paying 10%-40% cash back commissions. All the girls have to do is call ahead and say, "I'm coming at 7pm tonight on a date, my ID or name is ______, make sure you send me cash back to my bank account after he pays the bill."
