What's the difference between price and value? And can this be applied to firewood, or is all firewood the same?

Having logs delivered to your door via DPD is naturally more expensive than going out to the shops to get them, it's an extra service in exchange for saving some time, and that service needs to be paid for, along with heavy duty transit packaging.

What's already happened in the last few years is that imported logs have been driven up in price, so the days of Eastern European firewood being massively cheaper than local firewood are thankfully behind us somewhat.

With most logs that you can buy in supermarkets, DIY stores and petrol stations being imported, they're typically made in mega-factories with price being the most important factor in production... and it doesn't take in-depth knowledge of manufacturing to know that when we focus on price, it's quality that usually suffers.

Our lower volume, locally produced firewood is produced with quality and customer experience as a priority, so I wanted to produce a short video showing the differences between "cheap" supermarket logs, and what we believe to be better value logs, our single-species British firewood product.

On a like-for-like basis both of the supermarket products were about 10% cheaper but remember, I did have to drive to the shops to collect these while ours are delivered to your door.
