Early in my bookish content creation journey I came across a reel with another creator excitedly telling me about a book. In the comments someone asked how did you like this book they were holding up and telling people to read and their response was "oh I haven't read it yet" and I promised myself right there and then I was never going to recommend a book that I had not read myself. Does that mean I now have a small pool of only about 430 books to draw from? Yes, but I'd rather be authentic to myself than pretend on the internet. I'm not a huge fantasy reader; I don't survive on romance; I'm not always chasing the hottest new release. That's just me. I read what I want to read when I want to read it. I post the same way. I'm not constantly chasing likes and views and followers. This is just for fun. And if someone vibes with that, then great, all are welcome here. The point is you don't have to start reading 400 books a year to start posting about them on the internet. Start with the one you just read and enjoyed. Start commenting on other people's posts about books that you enjoyed. Curate your community the way you want it to be. A reader is a reader because they read a book this year and had fun doing it. There is no quantitative assessment.
