As part of the Connacht Fleadh, which takes place in Sligo June 20th-July 3rd 2022, we take a closer look at some of the great traditional tunes that came from the county.
A famous Sligo reel, The Mountain Road was composed by Tubbercurry fiddle player Michael Gorman. Here, as part of the Connacht Fleadh, fiddle player Philip Duffy gives his interpretation of the tune, and tells the story of how it came to be written.
