100 Years Of Singing With Nightingales With Sam Lee | Live

Описание к видео 100 Years Of Singing With Nightingales With Sam Lee | Live

Join folk singer and ‘The Nightingale’ author Sam Lee alongside special guest musicians on an unforgettable journey into nature.

100 years ago the BBC aired their first ever outside wildlife broadcast – a Nightingale in duet with cellist Beatrice Harrison. Tonight, we celebrate the song of this enigmatic spring arrival with an exclusive performance from folk singer Sam Lee and cellist Tara Franks as they duet with Nightingales under the night sky, live from the Knepp Estate in Sussex.

When singing their courtship song for these short few weeks in spring, nightingales will improvise and 'duet' if they hear human song in close proximity – tune in from 11pm to see (and hear) how the night unfolds...

❗ Since 1970, the BTO have recorded a 92% decline in the UK nightingale population. If you're angry at the current state of nature here and abroad, join us in London on 22 June for a peaceful march to deliver one clear message to politicians: Restore Nature Now.

Pledge to march with us at https://RestoreNatureNow.com

Produced by Chris Howard (Director, Wild Isles) and Fabian Harrison.
