The massive Nandi stone idol is said to have originated on it’s own (Swayambhu) in such perfection over a thousand year ago.

The Nandi Hills gets its name after this Magnificent Nandi Idol at the base of hill range. This temple of Kanive Basava is very popular all over South Karnataka.

The uniqueness of this temple is that, the Nandi murthy is growing in size to this day, they say initially it grew in height and now it’s growing in width!!!
