Uncovering Atypical Parkinson's

Описание к видео Uncovering Atypical Parkinson's

Tremor. Rigidity. Slowness. Walking and balance problems. The signs and symptoms of atypical Parkinsonism may look like PD, but they diverge from typical cases by generally responding poorly to levodopa treatment. In this program, Nikolaus McFarland, MD, PhD, an Associate Professor of Neurology in the Movement Disorders division at the University of Florida College of Medicine, uncovers what atypical Parkinsonism is, including dementia with lewy bodies (DLB), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), multiple system atrophy (MSA), and corticobasal syndrome (CBD). A primary goal of his work is to identify and develop potential novel therapeutics to support people with atypical Parkinsonism to live better.

Parkinson & Movement Disorder Alliance is a nonprofit organization providing people with Parkinson's and other movement disorders as well as their care partners opportunities to learn, live life more fully and connect with other. We believe you are MORE than a disease!
