VO President Choummaly Sayasone and his delegation in Cambodia on state visit from February 26-28
INTRO: President Choummaly Sayasone and his delegation left Vientiane on Thursday the 26th of February for a state visit to Cambodia to further promote bilateral ties and cooperation between the two neighbours.
STORY: President Choummaly Sayasone, his wife and a high ranking delegation of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic pay a state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia on 26-28 February.
The visit is in response to an invitation from His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, the King of Cambodia. The visit aims to further strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Upon his arrival, the President and his accompanied members were received in a royal audience by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni at the Royal Palace
At the talk, the Cambodian monarch expressed warm welcome to the high-ranking Lao delegation, stressing that the visit will further deepen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries for the mutual interests of both countries and peoples.
For his part, Choummaly Sayasone expressed thanks to Cambodia for its warm hospitality for himself and his delegation, and praised the Kingdom for its full peace, political stability and rapid development under the cool shade of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and Her Majesty Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.
He also took the opportunity to invite His Majesty the King to pay a state visit to Laos at an appropriate time.

President Choummaly Sayasone and his delegation also paid tribute to a statue of His Majesty King Father Norodom Sihanouk.
Laos and Cambodia established diplomatic relations on June 15, 1956.
The government office members are Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thongloun Sisoulith; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Sports, Dr Phankham Viphavanh; Minister and Head of Office of the Presidential Palace, Phongsavath Boupha; Minister of National Defence, Lieutenant General Sengnuan Xayalath; Minister of Energy and Mines, Soulivong Daravong; Minister of Health, Prof. Dr Eksavang Vongvichit; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Noulin Sinbandith; Minister of Industry and Commerce, Madame Khemmani Pholsena; and Minister of Public Works and Transport, Dr Bounchanh Sinthavong.
The Lao Ambassador to Cambodia, Prasith Xayasith, is accompanying the delegation.
