In this video, I am going to show you How to Turn Off Read Receipts in Google Chat.

Before we begin, make sure you hit subscribe and tap the bell icon to get daily tech videos.

In Google Chat, if you don’t want others to know that you read their message then you can do that using a simple chrome and edge extension. It is called Turn off read receipts for Google Chat.

Go to the store using the link in the description and then install this extension.

Now, turn to the Google Chat in Gmail and then refresh the tab.

You will see a switch is added to the chat. Just turn it on and then leave it.
When the new message will arrive, then you can just open the message and read it.

On the sender side, he will not see the read receipt. See this screenshot from the other side.

I have already read the message but on his side, it is still showing as unseen.
This is all it takes to turn off read receipts in Google Chat.
