The National Park Service and the United States Navy conducted the interment of Estelle Birdsell on December 5, 2017.

Estelle and his brother, Rayon, were both assigned to the USS Arizona and on board on December 7, 1941. Estelle survived the attack; his brother did not. Now, Estelle has been reunited with his brother.

His family was there to participate in the interment of his urn into the hull of the ship. Full military burial honors were rendered to Mr. Birdsell by the United States Navy, and his interment into the ship was accomplished by the National Park Service Dive Team.
