Real name Benjamin Jacob Grimm, The Thing's body is covered with an orange, flexible, rock-like hide and possesses superhuman strength, endurance, and durability. The mutagenic, specific-frequency cosmic ray bombardment caused his musculature, bone structure, internal organ composition, soft tissue structure, and skin to greatly increase in toughness and density. The Thing can exert himself at high levels for about an hour before the build-up of fatigue poisons in his blood impairs his strength. His reflexes have remained at their above average human levels despite his greater mass. The Thing's lungs are of greater volume and efficiency than a normal man's, enabling him to hold his breath underwater for up to nine minutes, The Thing's five senses can withstand greater amounts of sensory stimuli than he could when he was a normal human being, with no reduced sensitivity.
Unlike in the case of the Hulk, the Thing has suffered no loss of intelligence or change in personality in his transformation into his monstrous form.
The Thing is a brilliant pilot of aircraft. He has had a great deal of experience at hand-to-hand combat, and was a formidable opponent in physical combat even before becoming the Thing.
Thing's Passive "Hard Rock" for every 10 seconds, the Thing's next basic attack is enhanced, allowing him to leap a short distance toward a specified target and deal physical damage to enemies in the area he lands which makes his passive an Area of effect damage, as well as slowing the affected targets by 20% for 1.5 seconds.
Thing's first skill "Earthquake". The Thing smashes the ground beneath him, fracturing the earth in the specified direction. Enemies in the path are dealt physical damage. If the fracture hits an enemy hero, or when it reaches its max distance, a stone pillar arise along its path, knocking nearby enemies up after a short delay and dealing physical damage, while slowing them by 80% for 1.5 seconds. The slow effect only applies to enemies that were hit by the pillar and not the fractured earth and the pillar will only rise on the first enemy hero hit.
Thing's second skill "Quake". The Thing tramples the ground 5 times, each time dealing physical damage to enemies in range and inflicting a slowing effect of 20% for 0.5 second. After he finishes trampling, The Thing leaps in the direction of where he is facing, dealing physical damage more than the trample, to the enemies where he lands. Each time this ability hits an enemy hero or beast, the thing gains one layer of shielding effect that can absorb damage per layer. The number of enemies hit with this skill do not add up on the Things Shielding. So hitting single enemy with quake or multiple enemies would give the same amount of shield.
The Quake skill will continue to trample even hit by crowd control skill, however the Thing will be immobilized.
The slow effect of the Quake skill will always trigger when an enemy is in range.
Thing's Ultimate "Boulder Crash". The Thing quickly charges to a specified location, dealing physical damage to enemies in his path and knocking them aside. When he reaches his target location, he deals physical damage to enemies in range and knocks them up for 1 second. No slow effect after the enemy hero lands on the knock up. The skill can pass through inner walls but will activate the damage and knock up if The Things hits the outer walls.
