2. SOUNDBITE (English) Hugh Grant:
"I have many fantasies but oddly enough the rock star one is not one of them, it never has been. I have always been teased by my friends for being something of a freak in that I have never been madly into music, 'Puppet On A String,' 'Godspell,' and when you have said that you have said about the whole of my record collection. I have never been a big music person and in many ways I was therefore shockingly miscast in this film."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Drew Barrymore - on what she was doing in the year the film was set 1987:
"I was out at clubs dancing to the music and buying records with my girlfriends at the record store, it was a great, great time. I was sort of into the alternative music when punk rock turned into 'Joy Division' and 'New Order' and that kind of stuff, 'Violent Femmes,' 'The Clash,' I loved all that, and then when you got 'Go Gos', 'Beauty And The Beat' and you put that record on, it just blew my mind. Then there was 'Prince' and 'Madonna' and 'Wham' and 'Elton John' and all this great heart and fun concerts to go to. It was just a very joyful time in music, I thought the 80s were carefree and had a certain happiness and I miss that, I liked the pop music from that time. 'Cindy Lauper,' how can you not enjoy in your heart that beautiful voice and fun music behind it."
SOUNDBITE (English) Hugh Grant - on what he was doing in 1987:
"Yes, like I said earlier, I was sitting there miserably in a silent room, watching News Night. That was my idea of a really good time in 1987, particularly if there was a big disaster, I loved a disaster."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Hugh Grant -on how he struggled with the performances in Music and Lyrics:
"I had to perform twice in this really, once in the present day, which was tight trousers, high heels, and just a backing track, and that was really unbelievably difficult. The piano, I got that and singing, I could get that, but actually standing there with a microphone and selling a song, I found almost impossible. I had a choreographer, a brilliant choreographer and we used to have these sessions in a big studio in down town New York and he would stand there and say 'okay Hugh, I'm just going to play the music really loud and I want you to just express yourself,' and he put the music on and half an hour later I would still be standing there, stock still, I had no self to express, there is literally no dance in me. So, at 7 o'clock in the morning with a bunch of extras and they say 'go.' I, for the first time in my career, had the resort to alcohol and I had quite a nice day in the end actually, it was fun."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Hugh Grant -on how make up team struggled to make him look younger:
"Then the pop video, the real problem there, apart from the music, was how to make me look in my mid twenties, and they failed dismally. There were a very expensive team of make-up and hair people and costume people and they manages to reduce me from 46 to 45 I'd say. If you've seen the film you see a bunch of mid-twenties pop musicians and then this tragic middle aged Parisian prostitute wearing too much rouge and a lot of semi visible lifting tape on my face, and that is my effort."
9. Wide of press conference
10. SOUNDBITE (English) Hugh Grant - on what sorts of things irritate him, now he is older:
