My K24/K20 turbo oil drain solution

Описание к видео My K24/K20 turbo oil drain solution

A common issue with installing a turbo oil drain line in a Honda K24/K20 engine, is that the drain ends up being submerged in oil when the drain is installed in the oil pan. This can sometimes cause smoking issues and is generally not a good practice.

What I did was to bore and tap a unused boss on the block to fit a -8 ORB to JIC fitting with a 1/2 " drill and used a step bit to make the O-ring land. I also enlarged the port that drained into the oil pan to 11/16" so there are no flow restrictions.

For the ORB threads, it's a 11/16" drill size and a 3/4-16 tap. This raises the drain level by approximately 1"-1.5". I also bored out the ORB fitting to a 1/2" thru bore.

The drain is very solid, it is O-ring sealed vs NPT and pipe dope, and can easily be capped if necessary. It exits into the oilpan above the windage tray into a vertical port which should help with oil sloshing issues.
