Open Team Roping - Stephenville Shootout

X-Treme Team Roping presents the Open Team Roping at the Stephenville Shootout.

An Open Roping in Stephenville, Texas, is always sure to feature some of the top team roping talent in the country. The Stephenville Shootout was no exception. The roping featured some of the legends of our sport, like Walt Woodard and Kory Koontz, some perennial favorites, Travis Graves and Cory Petska, as well as some young guns, Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord.

The Open was a unique format, featuring several different set ups. The first round of the roping was a poison round, with each steer having some sort of trick. The second round was Rodeo Salinas style, both header and heeler coming from the heading side. The third round was set up like the Pendleton Round-Up, with steers coming down a lane. The fourth round was set up like Prescott Frontier days, with both ropers coming from the heeling side, and the short round was a muley round.

14 teams made it to the Short Round, with the win going to the team of Dustin Egusquiza and Travis Graves.
