Shrinkr is a simple configuration script for the SCons build system that takes a folder's worth of audio and video media files as input and transcodes them (or processes them however you like) into output files.

You retain full control over the ffmpeg command line options and the selection of files you want to use as inputs.

The script can be downloaded easily on any system using:
curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nuk... -o ShrinkrTranscode

And run using:
scons -f ShrinkrTranscode -k

Out of the box, the script will convert all of the video files in a folder to 1080p resolution at a visually indistinguishable quality level.

By using SCons, you can run the command over and over in a directory and it will only process the files that need processing. Work that has been completed will not be repeated, work will only be performed if the input file or the output file has changed.

This is essentially what a compiler does with source code, but in this case we use audio and video files.
