MOUNT RAINIER - Climb For A Cause - July 2016

Описание к видео MOUNT RAINIER - Climb For A Cause - July 2016

Sarah climbs Mount Rainier with REI Employees in a Climb For A Cause to support the Washington National Park Fund.

As a team of 8 with 4 guides from Alpine Ascents International, we climbed a 3-Day route up Disappointment Cleaver via Camp Muir on the mountain's south and east sides.

Day 1 - Paradise (5,400) to Camp Muir (10,100ft)
Day 2 - Snow School at Camp Muir (10,100ft) then over Cathedral Gap, traversing Ingraham Glacier to high camp at Ingraham Flats (11,200ft)
Day 3 - Waiting out heavy snow for summit leaving at 4:15AM climbing up Ingraham Glacier and through Disappointment Cleaver, a crux filled with rock and ice. We then climbed Emmons Glacier (~12,800ft) before being turned back due to avalanche conditions.

Thanks to all who supported the cause and my mountaineering dreams!
