Gases neither have a fixed shape nor volume, with particles that are far apart and move freely. Additionally, matter can undergo physical and chemical changes, transforming from one state to another, and is composed of elements and compounds that interact in various ways. Understanding matter and its properties is fundamental to the study of physics, chemistry, and other natural sciences.
